Doors to Other Worlds by Raymond Buckland
This book is exactly what the title says it is. Not only is the history of present-day spiritualism recounted briefly, there are chapters on specific types of mediumship (mental and physical) and exercises to develop mediumistic gifts. I highly recommend this book to anyone needing a broad introduction to spiritualism as well as to students of mediumship who want a highly readable compendium of spiritual gifts.
Seance by Suzane Northrop
This is a down-to-earth book about what to expect from a meeting with a medium. It is written by a medium who answers questions about mediumship with humor and compassion and uses personal experiences to illustrate her points. This is a great book for someone thinking about having a session with a
medium or a newly practicing medium who wants support and encouragement in
the work.
Second Sight by Judith Orloff, M.D.
I just loved this book by a psychiatrist who, much to her surprise, was able to use her clairvoyance to help her clients. This is a very personal history of healing and self-discovery. It is a joy to read about science and metaphysics working
together.
Practical Intuition by Laura Day
This is a no nonsense guide for developing what is commonly called "intuition". The exercises are great and will help you to understand the intuitive feelings that you have. Day takes into account individual differences to help you to make the most of your natural psychic ability.
Ghostly American Places by Arthur Myers
Chances are that no matter where you travel in these United States, there is a haunted landmark nearby! Many of these landmarks are open to the public. So, if you are a ghost hunter or just like to read about real ghosts, this is the book for you.
